"Last gasp for Allegheny County's air pollution program?" www.post-gazette.com/pg/07308/831053-113.stm Efforts are underway to dismantle your local air quality program and turn it over to the state. Allegheny County has some of the most intense sources of pollution in the United States, and non-attainment areas separate from the rest of Pennsylvania. Thus we need a strong, active, and local air quality agency promulgating and implementing regulations specifically tailored to the problems unique to our airshed. The Board of Health cancelled the Air Pollution Control Advisory Committee meeting and its subcommittee meetings nearly two months ago, they have yet to be rescheduled. This concerns GASP, if it concerns you learn more by attending the Board of Health Meeting Wednesday, November 7, 2007 12:00pm 301 39th St., Building #7 in Lawrenceville in the 1st Floor Conference Room The agenda for the meeting can be found here: http://www.achd.net/board/pubs/htm/agenda%20100707.html If you are interested in making public comments you can do so by contacting the Health Department Director's office at 412-578-8008. Comments should be kept to 3 minutes. Feel free to contact GASP at 412-325-7382 or gasp at gasp-pgh.org for more information or talking points.
