GASPer Air Monitor Demonstration Day
/*Saturday, May 10, 2008*/
9:00am--12:00pm
Wightman School Community Bldg., 5604 Solway Street, Pittsburgh 15217
Breakfast provided
Thanks to a generous grant from the Grable Foundation, GASP was able to
purchase a new air monitor. Among other capabilities, the GASPer Air
Monitor measures ozone, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, carbon
dioxide, and solar radiation.
The event is geared towards middle school, high school and college
educators as well as community members interested in monitoring air
pollution in their neighborhoods.
The event will include a demonstration of the new air monitor and our
hand-held fine particulate monitor and a demonstration of the SuperStack
by Tony Sadar. The SuperStak is a 13 foot tall artificial smokestack
that realistically and safely demonstrates the dispersion of atmospheric
contaminants using paper-hole punches to represent pollution particles.
The event is FREE, but please call 412-325-7382 or email
lee at gasp-pgh.org <mailto:lee at gasp-pgh.org> to register
