It may sound strange, but that is just what our volunteers do: read smoke. There are opacity regulations in Allegheny County for smoke from a stack. The Smoke Readers receive excellent training that is the same as that given to the Allegheny County Air Emissions Inspectors for smoke reading from stacks and it is FREE to the volunteer team (must be an Allegheny County resident).
