Never mind, I had typo'd my grant command in mysql. User and pass was
correct, so logging into mysql was fine, but database name was
incorrect. Can't believe it took me this long to figure out ;-)

Thanks for all your help!

One side note though. After I fixed everything, and went through the
install process again, at the end of the install, it said an error has
occurred, but then when I went to localhost, it appeared everything was
okay. So I don't know why it gave me that last error.
