[geeklog-devel] Plugin Update issue vs. 1.8.0 release

So, what's the current state of that plugin update issue? This seems  
to be the only thing holding back the 1.8.0 release.

For starters, there doesn't seem to be a bugtracker entry for this.  
Can someone please open one and collect the available information  
there? Most of the info seems to have been posted here under  
wrong/irrelevant subjects, so it's hard to find.

And who's got time to work on this?
