[geeklog-devel] GSoC 2013

We haven't been accepted for GSoC 2013, unfortunately. There's the usual IRC feedback session for rejected orgs on April 19th that I intend to attend to see if I can get some usable feedback for future improvements.
So, time to pull out Plan B: Let's do our own (smaller, of course) "Summer of Code". We have some money from our sponsors that's been sitting there unused. Assuming we find people willing to mentor, we could pay a smaller but reasonable amount of money to get some work done - or finished.
Specifically, I was thinking about rescuing some past GSoC projects before they suffer from too much bit rot. And/or maybe a new project, from this year's list.
Accepted students for GSoC will be announced on May 27. Until then, we should have defined the parameters of our own program, so that we can offer it as an alternative to those students who didn't get in.
How does that sound? Who's in?
