I received an email from pair.com support re: the MySQL problems on
geeklog.net:

The site's currently running on MySQL 3.23.56. What would make more
sense: Going the small step to 3.23.58 or the bigger step to 4.0.whatever
(4.0.16, I think, is the current version)?

bye, Dirk

Baby steps. 3.23.56

4.0 could open more security holes that haven't been found yet. Even
though the default install of 4.0 has most of the potential security holes
turned off.
