Following the above link I get the error message:
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by
(output started at /usr/www/users/geeklog/messenger/index.php:49) in
/usr/www/users/geeklog/lib-common.php(960) : eval()'d code on line 1
Since I don't have the source for the messenger plugin, not sure what
is going on there. ;)

I finally managed to get my page to validate on W3.org ... but I have a
question concerning the ampersand. If I try to post a story with
ampersands, I have to code it & -- I understand that. But Geeklog,
even in CODE tags, changes & to & on preview. This means that to
save a story with the & intact (so it will validate), I need to
paste the final text and save without preview.
Is there any way to get Geeklog to leave the &'s alone?

Is this not solved by adding it to config.php as an allowed tag?

No, unless there's something different than what I tried. I did:
'&' => array()
in config.php, and it still gets converted. It's like the problem with
\ and < and > ...
