[geeklog-devtalk] DB writes appear to silently fail

I've recently migrated my geeklog (1.3.9) installs to a new server (running
Fedora 2), and ever since they've been broken in a very strange way: the
sites display just fine, and hit counters update, but anytime I try to make
any change -- leave a comment, post a story, update a static page -- nothing
happens. It's as if it's trying to update the DB and failing, but there's no
mention of it in any of the logs.

When I migrated I simply copied the geeklog trees over and did a dump/restore
of the DB. I replicated the PHP (4.3.8) and Apache (2.0.50) configs, so
nothing should have changed there. I've also verified that I can make the DB
change manually, connected as the user specified in the config. I even tried
doing it in multiple browsers, just in case.

Anyone have any ideas?
