But to do that, the spammer / harvester would need to subscribe to the
mailing list. Have you ever heard of a spammer doing that, thus
confirming their own email address!?

Btw, if you're so concerned about being harvested, you shouldn't really
put your email address in your signature as that will end up in the
archive and can be harvested from there ...
