No.

Geeklog was meant to work with other databases (you'll see some
references to this in the code), but the last time someone actually tried
adding support for another database, it ended in a mess. The idea has
since been abandoned.

Geeklog 2 is being developed using PEAR::DB from the start, btw, but GL 2
is still quite some time away ...
