Artist Melissa Brown will be at Monte Vista in person this Saturday June 7 at 7 pm to share the intricacies of her system for beating the lottery! For "Hey, You Never Know." Annie has invited Melissa to be the official spiritual guide and east coast representative. Based in New York, Melissa has spent the past few years fascinated with the Powerball games and how to measure and capitalize on their idiosyncrasies. She has incorporated this numerological science into both her drawings and her purchases in the New York State Lotto. In addition to Annie's LA Dart Pool, which capitalizes on chance encounters, Melissa has established the Brown Wheel, a number generating system based her research of numerological science. To bring the wheel to test, she is also collecting a Mega Millions pool in New York City. Since Mega Millions is a twelve state lottery including New York and California, together, Melissa's east coast effort of nailing the magic combo is synchronized with Annie's west coast geographical wandering for luck and money, drastically increasing the potential of winning for all participants from east and west. Friday June 27 is our last chance to win the Mega Millions! Join us for an evening of closing celebration starting at 7 pm. Promptly on 8:01 pm, we'll watch the live broadcast of the final drawing for the MegaMillions pool. Will we win? Everyone focus. Yes, we will. It's been an uphill journey! Thanks to the footwork performed by our mastermind and west coast luck geomancer Annie Shaw, tickets have been purchased at over 76 auspicious locations across the city of LA. Combined with the meticulous calculations by our spiritual guide and east coast representative Melissa Brown, we have a total winning of $ 3 shared amongst 131 participants. Step by step, draw by draw, we are closer to our first million each day. Meet Brian, the first lotto winner Annie met just moments before the cutoff time on the same day of our first winning. He was at Foremost Liquor at the border of South Pasadena, claiming his $2 winning, sending good omen to us cross states. Hey, You Never Know. Annie Shaw May 31 to June 28, 2008 Please note that the project will stay open for public viewing on Saturday 28 June. -- Monte Vista 5442 Monte Vista St Los Angeles, CA 90042 www.montevistaprojects.com open Saturday and Sunday, noon to 5 pm -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Sunday, July 6, 2008 @ Monte Vista Message-ID: <50164.149.142.130.227.1214858805.squirrel@webmail6.pair.com> July 6, 2008 12 noon - ? SEW (a) PIECE a COLLABORATIVE FLAG REARRANGEMENT In March 2008, at the War Protest in Hollywood, Jade Thacker performed a rearrangement of Yoko Ono's Cut Piece wearing an American flag as her dress. Sitting in the street, Jade invited anyone to cut a piece from her dress/flag and offered them the choice to either keep it or put their piece in a cup she had for use in a later attempted reconstruction. With many cut pieces remaining and one very disheveled American flag, Jade invites anyone and everyone to collaborate in a Flag Rearrangement. This all day extravaganza will take place at Monte Vista Projects in Highland Park, July 6, 2008 beginning at 12 noon and carrying on! There will be a working table with the remainder of the flag from back in March and various sewing materials where attendees will be able to take turns altering and revamping the flag. Participants may choose to sew back a flag remnant or cut a piece from their own clothes to add to the new flag. Everyone isencouraged to wear or bring clothes or cloths to cut and insert. There will also be an afternoon BBQ, musical talents, and a non-traditional flag raising! This is Jade Thacker's first solo exhibition. She is currently a BFA4 at California Institute of the Arts, living in the mysterious Val Verde, CA. -- Monte Vista 5442 Monte Vista St Los Angeles, CA 90042 www.montevistaprojects.com open Saturday and Sunday, noon to 5 pm -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
