[Whitmandemsannounce] Agenda for Aug.15 Meeting, Lentil Fest, etc.

Dear Dems,
    Our regular monthly meeting will be held Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 
Denny's Restaurant on Bishop Blvd. in Pullman.   Dinner begins at 
5:30 and the Meeting begins at 6:30.
    At this meeting we'll be discussing preparations for the Lentil 
Fest.  We will have the booth set up on both Friday and Saturday.  If 
you can help, set-up on Friday will be at 5:00 and set-down at 
9:00.   In between, of course, help at the booth is always 
welcome.   On Saturday, set-up at Reaney Park will be at 10:00.  If 
someone has a good book that they'd like to get read, perhaps 
"babysitting" the booth until noon would be a great job.   The booth 
will be open from noon to 5:00, and then the great set-down 
begins.   Help when you can.
    We'll also be discussing the meeting of the newly organized 5th 
Congressional District which will be held at the Neill Library in 
Pullman on Saturday at 1:00.
Anyone who would like to be involved in the Congressional District 
organization is welcome to this meeting.
    Lincoln County has sent a resolution that they would like us to 
co-sponsor, so that resolution will have to be voted on at our meeting.
    Nathan Weller, who is running for City Council from the 2nd Ward 
of Pullman, will be walking in Saturday's parade and welcomes anyone 
who would like to walk with him.   He will also have a booth at 
Friday's festivities.  Alas, he has to work (SEL),  so if you can 
help at his booth it would be appreciated.

    Our booth will be registering voters, and enlisting volunteers 
for the upcoming election season (particularly helpers for the 
February Caucuses.)  We'll be holding a "Straw Poll" of presidential 
preferences.  ($1 a "straw")  This is always fun.
