From nphorter at gmail.com Tue Aug 5 21:25:17 2008 From: nphorter at gmail.com (Nathan Horter) Date: Tue, 05 Aug 2008 18:25:17 -0700 Subject: [Whitmandemsannounce] Virtual Phone Banking Volunteers Needed Message-ID: <4898FD7D.6000908@gmail.com> With the Primary Election two weeks from today it's important that we get every Democrat in Whitman County to return their ballot. We are starting a Virtual Phone Bank calling Democrats and Democratic leaning independents and reminding them to return their ballot. These phone calls can be the difference between our Democratic candidates finishing second in our new "Top Two" Primary or winning big! If you have some cell phone minutes to spare, if you have free long distance to call Democrats throughout Whitman County or if you just want to make calls in Pullman, WE NEED YOUR HELP! Virtual Phone Banking is easy. All you need is internet access and a phone you can use while online. We will provide you with a login and a Virtual Phone Bank access code. The virtual phone bank will give you a name and phone number for a person to call. Call them and ask them to return their ballot. That's it. It's easy and it will help our Democratic candidates. If you are interested please contact Nathan Horter at nphorter at gmail.com Please include the following in your email: A preferred user name Where you'd like to make calls (Pullman or Outside of Pullman) Thanks for your help! Alex is a 2008 WSU graduate with a degree in engineering. We are so pleased to have him lead us through the campaign. This is also a chance for volunteers to get to meet each other. Speaking of volunteers, we have begun calling volunteers to staff our booth at the Palouse Empire Fair, Sept.4-7. At Lentil Fest, the booth was quite successful because of the enthusiasm of the volunteers. At the Fairgounds (outside of Colfax), we'll be at the booth from noon to seven each day. We have four passes so that volunteers do not need to pay the entrance fee. It would be great if volunteers from Colfax could help with the logistics. If you can help, please call the office (338-4700) or Carolyn (336-4000). On another note: keep watch for the notice that Obama/Biden signs are available. We will have plenty of signs, so let me know if you want to be called. ....and if you'd be willing to distribute them to neighbors. Because we bought these signs, we will have to charge for them. (the rules!) We will sell them for $3. I'm also going to order bumper stickers and those will cost $1. We also have some Gregoire signs and bumper stickers and a few buttons at headquarters.
