As Vice Chair, I, Tyana Kelley, have replaced him. I am honored to be the chair of such a wonderful group! We worked hard last year to get good Democrats elected, and we need to keep that momentum going! We were the ONLY county this side of the Cascades to vote for President Obama, and we need to keep his message of service going in eastern Washington. With that being said, we have more elections coming up this year. There are city council races, and the 9th LD has an opening, because Representative Steve Hailey passed away in December. We are looking for candidates for these elections, and we want to be there to support them. We want to turn our purple county, BLUE! In order to help us do that, The Progressive Majority, and local county parties will be hosting campaign training workshops around eastern and central Washington in the next few months. Closest to us will be Spokane and Walla Walla. The Spokane training will be on *March 28, 2008 from 10-4, and will only cost $5*. I have attached the flyer to this email. I have already RSVPed, and I hope to see many of you there as well. Please let me know if you would like any more information. The last thing that I want to tell you is that we are postponing our March meeting by one week, in order to accommodate vacations. The meeting will now be on *March 25th at 6:30*. We will be conducting a small amount of business that night, but our main focus will be a *Q&A Pat O'Neill, our new Democratic County Commissioner!* It will be at the Commissioners' Chambers in the Colfax City Hall on Main St. So bring your questions and comments for Pat. I hope to see you all at the March meeting. I am aiming to bring a more social and educational aspect to our meetings. We need to come together as a community, and identify our strengths and weaknesses together.
