Tom, I ran my tests on this on a copy of my Iowa Outdoors database which 
is approaching 2000 users and 2000 stories.  From what I can see there is 
little noticeable difference in performance.  I can't tell you exactly 
what this does and the MySQL documentation isn't too clear on it either.
