Okay, before this gets any further: The plugin API in 1.5 is - to the
best of my knowledge - fully compatible with 1.4.1 and earlier releases.

Where by "plugin API" I mean the calls that go through system/lib-
plugins.php. We are very careful _not_ to break this (the last time we
did was with the comment API and that was deemed necessary by everyone
involved).

What Joe has been referring to is the code in lib-admin.php, i.e. the
ADMIN_list calls. I understand there were some incompatible changes
there. I spoke to Oliver about it and he was considering rolling those
changes back. Not sure if he got around to it, though - need to check.

So, strictly speaking, the ADMIN_list functions are not part of the
plugin API, although I can perfectly understand that plugin authors may
want to use them, e.g. for consistent looks. The question is: How many
really do? From what I can see, neither Blaine nor Mark seem to use them
in their plugins, for example.

bye, Dirk
