Not to mention the content, i.e. stories and such, which is plain HTML
on pretty much every Geeklog site out there.

XHTML should be an option so that when you start a new site, you can
make the decision to do it in XHTML. I don't think too many people would
go the extra mile to convert all their content into XHTML ...
