Since the whole point of this project is to harness the power of the crowds, I think we should allow users to submit translations for new languages. However …

This could in fact be a problem.

My first thought was to have some sort of approval process: Allow users to suggest a new language for translation, but only after it has been approved (and possibly corrected) by an admin user. But if we make this too complicated or if it takes too long, it could demotivate the potential contributor.

Thoughts, anyone? Other ideas?
